Just a quick introduction to when and where these boots originated from- This style of boot comes all the way from Russia back in the 1900s, it was called the Valenki boot otherwise known as the "Russian Boot" they were made for solders to combat the harsh winters and were crafted out of very thick felt. They were built for comfort and convenience which produced the styles distinctive wrinkle around the ankles. This style was later applied to women's boots that were made out of leather instead of felt, they made an appearance in the second decade of the 20th century known as the 1920s.

Now that we just had a mini history lesson on boots lets get to the fun stuff! One of the reasons I love this style of boot is its abilty to be able to be worne with literally anything and it makes your outfit look unique and chic. I will say not everyone is on board with this style of shoe.... Tim thinks I look like "Puss in Boots" lol but I don't really care cause I love them ! I picked these guys up at Zara on the cheap, they were only 100$ and real leather so all-in-all not a bad price for what your getting! They do come in black, but I decided to switch it up a bit and get them in the tan color (I have to many black boots at home). Something to remember when looking for a pair of "slouchy" boots is to make sure the shaft of the boot is wide enough to tuck in your pants, and in terms of length I would suggest keeping the boots mid to lower calf otherwise you might look some who belongs in "Pirates of the Caribbean" lol.

Let me know what you think, do love or hate them lol?

some times all you need is a little inspiration!
