seeing red

Red is probably one of my all time favorite colors and I can think of so many reasons why, but one of my main reason for loving red so much more then all the other colors...... Red signifies SALE SEASON!!

I'm not going to lie, I went a bit ham in the sale section before Christmas...lol. I just couldn't help myself...... everyone was having pre-boxing day sales so I had to participate and pick up a few things, specially since I knew I wasn't going to be shopping on boxing day!

I know I've said this before but I don't like to invest heavily in trend pieces, cause there's a chance I might only get 2 seasons worth of wear out of them, so I like to look for cheaper alternatives. This jacket was 30$ with an additional 25% off (I used my virgin deal coupons...) I think its safe to say I didn't break the bank and personally think 22$ for a jacket is a pretty good deal !

Now I have a few rules when shopping sales, you need to remember that cheap doesn't always mean its good! What I look for, or like to focus on when deciding on what to buy is the cut, the fabric, the trims/finishing's, the overall fit and lastly the PRICE. if you focus on those 5 key components your money wont be wasted!  It doesn't matter if you only spend 30$ on something- if you don't wear it, it still equals money and time wasted!

Following trends can go either 1 or 2 ways; really good or really... really... bad lol. Bad because sometimes we wear things that aren't really suited for our body type or are personal style or maybe the cut was all wrong or it had shitty fabric, or sometimes we just wear too many trends at once and then we end up losing ourselves and looking like a walking billboard. Trends can be good cause they can get you out of your comfort zone, inspire you to take risks, try new things that you wouldn't normally try and just add some excitement into your wardrobe/life!

That being said Its important to stay true to yourself and make sure that you wear the clothes and that the clothes don't wear you!  I wont wear something if I don't think it reflects me and my personality and specially if its not suited for my body type. Something might look awesome but if I don't feel like myself in it then I wont wear it, or I might love something but it just looks awful on me cause its not suited for my body type, that's okay but I'm not going to wear it.

Next time you decide to go shopping whether that be online or in stores just remember to think about the 5 key components that I listed above. Hopefully this will help you to stay focused on the task at hand and you wont get carried away in the sale section, so you make some good shopping choices that will save you from wasting your money on items that you wont wear!
